Plastic Surgery Residency - 2009

DESCRIPTION:

Offering a post-residency fellowship research position to begin 07/01/09.

Pre-requisites: Applicants must be medical school graduates who are actively enrolled in an approved surgical residency training program, or will have completed an approved surgical residency program at the time of starting the fellowship.

This is a one year, fully funded plastic surgery craniofacial research fellowship affiliated with the Cleveland Clinic Florida/ Memorial Regional Hospital System Plastic Surgery Residency Program. The fellowship will focus on translational research projects that will evaluate the efficacy of cutting edge craniofacial techniques. Basic science research will be performed under the guidance of our clinical staff and a full time craniofacial biologist at Nova Southeastern University. Projects will include work on stem cells, bone generation and BMPs, as well as variety of new craniofacial products. Clinical trials and case studies will also be performed. This will give the researcher opportunity for both bench top research and clinical work. Salary is 40K plus all expenses and benefits.

The position is for a non-designated prelimary plastic surgery resident. It is a one year position. The resident will be exposed to a high volume, full spectrum academic practice. The Division of Plastic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Harvard Medical School in Boston are offering a clinical and research fellowship in reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. The fellowship will particularly focus on body contouring and facial plastic surgery. The fellow will participate in the teaching of plastic surgery residents in the Combined Harvard Plastic Surgery Residency Program and will have an academic appointment as a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School. A one-year position is available, beginning on August 1st each calendar year.

Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship
DESCRIPTION:

A one year position beginning July 2009 is available to study pediatric plastic surgery in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Recently ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the #3 Children’s Hospital in the country, Cincinnati Children’s has a busy clinical practice in pediatric plastic surgery, including pediatric craniofacial surgery, brachial plexus reconstruction, and microvascular surgery. The fellow will participate in high clinical volume, clinical research projects, as well as resident teaching and conferences. Opportunities exist to participate in the practice’s burgeoning basic science projects which include minimally invasive approaches to craniofacial procedures, bone and cartilage tissue engineering, facial tissue allotransplantation, and the genetic basis for craniofacial differences. All applicants must have completed a residency in plastic surgery by the fellowship start date.
