Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center
Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship
DESCRIPTION:

A one year position beginning July 2009 is available to study pediatric plastic surgery in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Recently ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the #3 Children’s Hospital in the country, Cincinnati Children’s has a busy clinical practice in pediatric plastic surgery, including pediatric craniofacial surgery, brachial plexus reconstruction, and microvascular surgery. The fellow will participate in high clinical volume, clinical research projects, as well as resident teaching and conferences. Opportunities exist to participate in the practice’s burgeoning basic science projects which include minimally invasive approaches to craniofacial procedures, bone and cartilage tissue engineering, facial tissue allotransplantation, and the genetic basis for craniofacial differences. All applicants must have completed a residency in plastic surgery by the fellowship start date. Plastic Surgery Post-residency fellowships

Hand Fellowship
DESCRIPTION:

Offering a post-residency fellowship clinical position to begin on July 1, 2008.
Pre-requisiste: completion of approved residency in general surgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, CV,3 letters of recommendation, ECFMG certificate(if necessary), and Mississippi Medical License.
This is an ACGME approved fellowship in hand surgery. Upon completion fellow will be eligible for certificate in added qualification in hand surgery. All aspects of hand surgery will be covered. Fellow will work closely with staff and residents. Fellow will have access to microsurgery laboratory.

Fellowship in Breast, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery
DESCRIPTION:

Offering a post-residency fellowship clinical position to begin on July 1, 2008.

Pre-requisiste: Completion of approved residency in general surgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, CV, personal letter of goals and plans, 3 letters of recommendation, ECFMG Certificate(if necessary), Mississippi Medical License.

The fellowship is part of an active residency program in plastic surgery, which includes the full range of clinical practice in aesthetic and general reconstructive surgery. The Fellow will be integrated into the plastic surgery educational program, and participate in call, conferences, and the microsurgery skills laboratory. Areas of special emphasis include: breast reduction, aesthetic surgery of the breast and body, maxillofacial surgery, and flap surgery.

Microsurgery Fellow (Complex Reconstruction)
DESCRIPTION:

Offering a post-residency fellowship clinical position to begin on July 1, 2008.

Pre-requisiste: Completion of approved residency in general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, plastic surgery CV, ECFMG Certificate (if necessary), 3 Letters of Recommendation,
Mississippi Medical License.

The Fellow will be involved in the full range of reconstructive surgery from complex maxillofacial surgery to microsurgical reconstruction for defects throughout the body. Fellow will work closely with faculty and residents and will be fully integrated into the educational program. This means time will be spent on a wide variety of cases, although the emphasis is on microsurgery cases. The Fellow will have access to the microsurgery lab, both to develop skills and participate in ongoing research projects.
