ADD'L INFO: The Medical Retina/Glaucoma Fellowship program sponsored by Ronald Frenkel, M.D. F.A.C.S., F.I.C.S of the Eye Research Foundation/East Florida Eye Institute offers comprehensive training in the surgical and medical management of Macular Disease and Glaucoma.  A state of the art approach to macular disease is emphasized that includes the use of FA, ICG, FAF, and HD-OCT.  Corneal pachymetry, scanning laser ocular blood flow, HD-OCT, HRT, Pneumatonometry and 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring are utilized for the management of glaucoma. The fellow is exposed to pharmacotherapies for exudative macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and macular edema.

ADD'L INFO: The Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute announces the availability of postdoctoral fellowships.  Smith-Kettlewell is a non-profit, independent research institute in San Francisco, California historically dedicated to basic and clinical research in human vision  with an emphasis on strabismus and its associated sensory and motor conditions and on visual rehabilitation.  The fellowships are open to any field of visual neuroscience, oculomotor control and low-vision/blindness rehabilitation. Translational or clinically relevant aspects of these topics are particularly sought after. Details of the research interests of individual preceptors are listed below. The fellowships require a doctoral degree and are normally awarded for two years. Applications from individuals with disabilities or other underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged. This specific announcement is for a fellowship with Dr. Laura Renninger who specializes in low vision and eye movements, in collaboration with Dr. Donald Fletcher at the California Pacific Medical Center.
