Steps - from start to finish
Step
1 - Register for the Match
The registration form is available online in PDF format.
Fill out the registration form and click on the “SUBMIT” button.
You will receive a confirmation email within 2 business days containing your
• Pending registration number
• Username and password to view the online directory
• Links to payment options
Select payment method by clicking on the appropriate link listed on your
confirmation email. If the link does not work, copy and paste the entire
link to your browser.
Please note that you must include your pending registration number and specialty
match when submitting payment. Your pending registration number becomes your
permanent registration number when payment is received.
Step
2 – Access your timeline
Select “Key Dates” from "About the Match" button to
view important dates related to your specialty Match.

3 – Select your programs
Login to the online directory to view the list of available programs. The
online directory listings are maintained by the training programs. Call programs
individually to obtain any additional information you don’t find in
the directory. SF Match does not have additional information other than what
you see in the online directory.
Once you have selected your programs, download a CAS distribution list.
The CAS distribution list must be submitted online. When you are done selecting
your programs, click on the “SUBMIT” button. You will receive
a confirmation email within 2 business days listing all your selections and
links to payment options. Please make sure you enter your correct registration
number and specialty when submitting payment. Credit card payments are processed
within 2 business days and checks may take up to 5 business days to be processed.

PS: You may send your distribution list before or after sending your CAS
application and support documents. Applications will only be distributed
to programs once all your required documents, distribution list and payment
for distribution have been received and processed.
Step
4 - Preparing your CAS application and support documents
Download and read the CAS Instruction Manual from the website.
Download and fill your CAS application form.
Gather all required documents and mail everything in one package in our office.
Step
5 - Confirming status of your application
You will be receiving automated email confirmations through out the application
process phases:
1) Confirmation Email – CAS application package received
You will receive a confirmation email when we receive and identity that a CAS
package from you has arrived in our office. The email is sent to the address
we have on file at the time we receive your application. If you would like
your confirmation email to be sent to a different address, please email or
call our office to update your information prior to the arrival of your package.
2) Confirmation Email – Application is distributed
You will receive email confirmation that your application has been distributed
to your selected programs.
Step
6 – Interviews
Programs will contact applicants who have been selected for interview. Method
of contact varies from program to program. Please contact your programs to
find out how they will be sending invitations for interview.
Step
7 – Submit rank list
After your interviews and before the Match deadline, submit your rank list
to our office. Rank lists are submitted online. Confirmation for your rank
list choices are sent to you via email within 2 business days of receipt
of your form.
