• We begin accepting requests for registration for the Spine Surgery Fellowship Match. Although we do not have any registration deadlines, it is in your best interest to register early so that you may have access to match materials as soon as they become available.
• For your convenience an online directory is available for your review. This directory is updated by programs year-around. It is recommended that you check this directory on a regular basis.
• Please note the individual deadline dates of each program to which you will apply.

CAS Target Date

• This is the Target Date to have your application submitted for Central Distribution. This is NOT a deadline. Remember, some programs accept applications at any time; others may set a deadline. It is the applicant's responsibility to contact training programs for individual deadline dates.
  

• Interview period.
  No interviews or visits are allowed to take place outside these dates.
  
  

• Interview space will be available during the AAOS Annual Meeting for Program Directors to conduct interviews. Fellowship Programs should contact Colleen O’Brien (cobrien@spine.org) to reserve space. Applicants need to contact programs of interest in order to arrange interviews during the Annual Meeting.
  

• Interview period ends.
  

• ALL rank lists must be in our office by 12:00 PM (PST).
Late rank lists will not be accepted. Applicants may call our office 24 hours after we should have received your rank list in order to get a telephone confirmation.

• Programs are emailed match results. Match applicants are generally contacted the same day.
  

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009.

• All applicants who do not yet know their result may call our office to receive it directly. Dial (415) 447-0350 and press '0' at the opening menu to speak with a Match Representative (between 8am - 4pm PST).
• Results are also mailed to applicants and programs.
  

• Any post-match vacancies which remain after the match will be announced on our Vacancy Information System. We only list vacancies of programs which have indicated that they will accept applications for their unfilled positions.
• Applicants who did not match may begin applying to these positions by negotiating directly with the programs regarding any documentation that they require.
  

• Spine Surgery Fellowship begins.
