Steps - from start to finish
Step
1 - Register for the Match
The registration form is available online in PDF format.
Fill out the registration form and click on the “SUBMIT” button.
You will receive a confirmation email within 2 business days containing your
• Pending registration number
• Username and password to view the online directory
• Links to payment options
Select payment method by clicking on the appropriate link listed on your
confirmation email. If the link does not work, copy and paste the entire
link to your browser.
Please note that you must include your pending registration number and specialty
match when submitting payment. Your pending registration number becomes your
permanent registration number when payment is received.

2 – Access your timeline
Select “Key Dates” from "About the Match" button to
view important dates related to your specialty Match.
Step
3 – Select your programs
Login to the online directory to view the list of available programs. The
online directory listings are maintained by the training programs. Call programs
individually to obtain any additional information you don’t find in
the directory. SF Match does not have additional information other than what
you see in the online directory.

4 - Applying to programs
A Central Application Service (CAS) is available. For more information,
please browse trough the Central Application Service links available on the
left-hand side menu.
Step
5– Interviews
Programs will contact applicants who have been selected for interview. Method
of contact varies from program to program. Please contact your programs to
find out how they will be sending invitations for interview.
Step
6– Submit rank list
After your interviews and before the Match deadline, submit your rank list
to our office. Rank lists are submitted online. Confirmation for your rank
list choices is sent to you via email within 2 business days of receipt of
your form.
